The location of the sighting was the Northstar resort complex, situated near Lake Tahoe, in Nevada County, California. Footage revealed the bears confidently navigating the snow, skillfully avoiding the people before retreating back into the wooded area.
Experts hypothesize that the group consisted of a mother bear and two cubs. Wildlife specialists point out that the winter season can present quite unpredictable circumstances. While numerous Californian bears endure the winter dormant, akin to a mild hibernation, they occasionally stir, particularly during thaws or when searching for sustenance.
