A person in the United States attempted to poison their housemates using an insect repellent, as reported by People.
Timothy Bradbury, aged 42, was apprehended in California under suspicion of intentionally contaminating his neighbors’ food with an insecticide. This event took place within a duplex residence located in the Santa Clarita Valley.
The couple, Billy and David Sonhopper, required repeated hospitalizations due to symptoms indicative of poisoning. Ultimately, David was diagnosed with liver damage. Following necessary examinations, medical professionals began to suspect the patients were suffering from chemical poisoning.
Subsequently, the couple reviewed security footage and alerted law enforcement. The retrieved video clearly showed the man applying an unidentified substance in the kitchen while wearing a gas mask.
On February 24th, officers arrived at the residence, but Bradbury refused to surrender. After two hours of negotiations, the suspect, who has a diagnosed mental health condition, gave himself up voluntarily.
During a subsequent search, evidence confirming Bradbury’s guilt was seized. The man faces charges of intentionally poisoning food with the intent to cause harm. The Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department is continuing its investigation.
