The Telegram messenger platform has introduced an optional feature preventing the forwarding of private conversation content, according to a release from the platform.
“From this day’s update, users now have the ability to disable sharing capabilities for any one-on-one chat, fostering an environment of greater mutual trust. Where this function is restricted within a chat, participants are barred from forwarding or copying messages originating from it, as well as capturing screenshots or saving any media,” the update description states. Currently, this setting is exclusive to premium subscription holders.
For group chats, labels for participants have been incorporated—these can represent things like job titles or team roles. Administrators manage the ability to apply these labels. Furthermore, Telegram suggests that one could use this to “designate an apartment or a car when chatting with neighbors.”
Other enhancements include captions for GIFs, instant sticker generation directly from photos, formatting options for time and date stamps within messages, and various other improvements.
