An extensive investigation involving over 80,000 recorded sightings has uncovered a noteworthy pattern regarding unidentified objects. It appears these enigmatic craft habitually manifest near deep-sea underwater canyons situated off the American coast, according to the Daily Mail.
Reportedly, Antoni Wendzikowski, an independent researcher based in Warsaw, cross-referenced data from the National UFO Reporting Center with bathymetric charts provided by NOAA (the US National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration).
The analysis demonstrated an unusually high rate of “flying saucer” sightings in three specific water bodies adjacent to California’s coast: the La Jolla area, and the Mugu and Monterey submarine canyons. Crucially, this surge in activity cannot be solely attributed to higher population density in the surrounding vicinities. Similar patterns are absent along the Eastern Seaboard of the US and in the Gulf of Mexico.
Wendzikowski based his work on the so-called cryptoterrestrial hypothesis, which posits that unknown intelligence might reside not in outer space but concealed within the ocean depths. Interest in this theory is further fueled by a 2004 incident where US Navy pilots off the coast of Southern California witnessed craft effortlessly transitioning between air and water environments.
Documents previously classified, housed within the UK National Archives, detail an incident from the 1990s in Belgium where military personnel encountered unidentified flying objects (UFOs).
