
Swedish athlete Linn Svahn and Italian Federico Pellegrino emerged victorious in the freestyle sprint events at the final stage of the 2025/26 World Cup season, currently taking place in Lake Placid, USA.
In the women’s race, Svahn finished the course in the final with a time of 2 minutes and 52.58 seconds. Her compatriot Johanna Sundling secured second place, trailing by 0.46 seconds, while Maja Dahlqvist rounded out the top three (+1.54).
Among the men, Pellegrino claimed first place with a finishing time of 2 minutes and 35.01 seconds. Norway’s Hågen Dahl secured the silver medal, finishing 1.24 seconds behind, with Anton Grön from Sweden taking third spot (+1.28).
On Sunday, the World Cup leg in the US will conclude with the men’s and women’s 20 km mass start freestyle races.
