The renowned French football figure, Zinedine Zidane, has reportedly reached a verbal understanding with the French Football Federation (FFF) to take the helm as the national team’s manager. This scoop was initially reported by the publication Le Parisien.
FFF President Philippe Diallo confirmed that the identity of the next head coach for the French squad has been decided, though he opted to withhold the specialist’s name. However, Diallo did mention that five individuals were in contention for the role, all of whom hold French citizenship.
During his tenure managing Real Madrid, Zinedine Zidane achieved considerable glory: he guided the club to two Spanish league titles, secured the national Super Cup twice, and celebrated a historic hat-trick of Champions League victories.
In the upcoming 2026 World Cup tournament, the French team is slated to compete in a group alongside Senegal and Norway. The identity of the fourth nation to complete this group will be announced at a later date.
