The Washington Capitals hockey team suffered a defeat against the St. Louis Blues in a National Hockey League (NHL) regular season contest.
The game, which unfolded in St. Louis, concluded with a victory for the home team, the score being 3-0 (period scores: 0-0, 1-0, 2-0). For the Blues, the goals were netted by Jimmy Snuggerud (at the 23-minute mark), Otto Stenberg (in the 55th minute), and Jordan Kyrou (in the 60th minute).
Washington’s Russian center, Alexander Ovechkin, spent 14 minutes and 31 seconds on the ice, registering three shots on goal, delivering two body checks, but failed to record any points.
Capitals forward Ivan Miroshnichenko made his presence felt with three recorded body checks. St. Louis forward Pavel Buchnevich did not register any points. Blues forward Alexei Toropchenko managed three shots directed at the net and executed two physical checks.
This marks the second consecutive loss for Washington. Conversely, St. Louis secured its second straight win.
