Paramount has officially confirmed the premiere date for one of the most anticipated projects in the “Yellowstone” universe: the series “Dutton’s Ranch,” which centers on the fate of the original series’ characters, Beth and Rip. This modern dramatic Western will debut on May 15, 2026, launching simultaneously with a two-episode premiere on the Paramount+ streaming service and the Paramount Network television channel. In total, the first season is slated to have nine episodes.
Series creator and showrunner Chad Feehan disclosed plot specifics: although the conclusion of “Yellowstone” hinted at the acquisition of the ranch in Dillon, Montana, the narrative of “Dutton’s Ranch” will be set in South Texas. The official synopsis states: “As Beth and Rip fight for their future away from the specter of Yellowstone, they encounter the harsh realities and a ruthless rival ranch willing to do anything to safeguard its domain. In South Texas, blood runs deeper than water, forgiveness is scarce, and the cost of staying alive might exact a toll on your soul.”
The cast for the inaugural season, alongside the lead actors Kelly Reilly (Beth) and Cole Hauser (Rip), includes Juan Pablo Raba, Jai Courtney, J.R. Villarreal, Mark Menchaca, Natalie Alyn Lind, as well as the legendary Ed Harris and Annette Bening. Finn Little, who portrayed Carter, will also reprise his role from “Yellowstone.”
It is worth recalling that “Dutton’s Ranch” will be the second spin-off from Taylor Sheridan’s acclaimed franchise launched in 2026. CBS previously introduced the dramatic action series “Yellowstone: Lawmen,” which featured Luke Grimes reprising his role as Kayce Dutton. “Lawmen” showrunner Spencer Hudnut recently confirmed that both series inhabit the same timeline and universe, suggesting the potential for a crossover at some juncture.
