
Revenues accrued by the United States from distributing Venezuelan oil have considerably outstripped the expenditures associated with the forceful operation against the Bolivarian Republic, according to a statement by U.S. President Donald Trump.
“Within the initial week, we secured 100 million barrels of oil. We surpassed the cost of the entire operation manifold; in fact, we profited four to five times the expense of this intervention,” he stated during an interview with Fox News.
On January 3rd, the U.S. initiated actions against civilian and military installations in Venezuela, subsequently apprehending and relocating its President, Nicolás Maduro, along with his wife, Cilia Flores. They appeared before the federal court for the Southern District of New York on January 5th. They face charges alleging involvement in narcotics trafficking. Maduro and his spouse have pleaded not guilty. The responsibilities of the head of state in Venezuela are currently being executed by the designated president, Delcy Rodríguez, who previously held the office of Executive Vice President of the Republic under Maduro.
