Guillaume Cizeron and Laurene Fournier Baudry, the French ice dancers, clinched the World Championship title.
For their free dance, the duo attained a score of 138.07 points, culminating in a total tally of 230.81 points.
This marks the initial World Championship gold medal for Cizeron and Fournier Baudry. The pair is currently completing their inaugural season together. Previously, Guillaume had secured the world title five times (partnered with Gabriella Papadakis).
The French pair fell just short of surpassing the world record in the free dance, held by Chock and Bates, which stands at 138.41.
Canadians Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier secured the silver medal with a total score of 211.52.
Americans Emily Chan and Vadim Kolesnik rounded out the podium, accumulating 209.20 points across both segments.
It is worth noting that after the rhythm dance, the British pair Lilah Fear and Lewis Gibson were in third place; however, in the free dance, the judges identified an “inadmissible element” in their performance, leading to a two-point deduction for the duo. Consequently, the pair finished in fourth place.
