Smart washing machines from Samsung, featuring intelligent capabilities, have ceased to operate correctly following a recent software update, as reported by the publication Android Authority.
Malfunctions concerning this South Korean brand’s home appliances were documented on both Reddit forums and the company’s official support website. Customers stated that after installing the latest patch, their washers became inoperable: the option to initiate a wash cycle vanished from the display, and remote activation via the associated application became impossible.
The discussion regarding this issue on Reddit garnered considerable traction, with one thread accumulating around 700 upvotes and nearly 100 replies. Fortunately, owners of these connected gadgets, finding themselves temporarily unable to clean their laundry, have discovered a temporary workaround.
They indicated that the appliances resume proper operation following several attempts to perform a full factory reset. Samsung has yet to issue an official statement addressing these emerging technical difficulties.
Reddit members offered commentary infused with sarcasm regarding the situation. “It would be better to just purchase a standard washing machine, ha-ha,” commented a user named Encrt.
“Why on earth do we have washing machines that require software updates? What has the world come to?” pondered TheKiteKing, expressing bewilderment. “Nowadays, they don’t even produce simple, non-connected washing and drying machines anymore.”
