The Portuguese forward for Saudi Arabian club Al-Nassr, Cristiano Ronaldo, reached the 968th goal of his professional career.
He found the net during the 28th round Saudi Pro League fixture against Al-Okhdood, scoring in the 15th minute following an assist from Nawaf Al-Boushal.
The game is currently at halftime, with Al-Nassr leading by a score of 1-0.
Prior to the March international break, Ronaldo missed the Saudi League matches against Al-Khaleej and Neom. The Portuguese star had traveled to Spain to undergo a course of treatment for a hamstring injury he sustained during the 24th round match against Al-Fateh.
This season, the 41-year-old Ronaldo has registered 24 goals in 24 appearances for Al-Nassr in the domestic league competition.
In February, Ronaldo engaged in a boycott of Al-Nassr’s matches due to his dissatisfaction with the club’s management structure. Specifically, the footballer was reportedly unhappy with the stewardship of the club by Saudi Arabia’s Public Investment Fund (PIF). According to media reports, Ronaldo perceived that the fund was dedicating less focus and fewer resources to his team compared to other clubs under its purview, especially Al-Hilal. He has since returned to the team roster.
