Following an impressive victory over Curtis Blaydes at UFC 327 in Miami, Josh Horkit caught the attention of UFC management and U.S. President Donald Trump, who was in attendance. As a result, Horkit received an invitation to compete at a White House celebration event on June 14th, where his opponent will be Derrick Lewis. This bout between the American heavyweights was announced by UFC President Dana White.
The unanimous decision win over Blaydes marked Horkit’s third victory in the UFC and secured him a spot in the division’s top 10, where he will now contend for the fifth position. This fight also marked the first time “The Incredible Hork” went the full three rounds.
Derrick Lewis, ranked eighth in the heavyweight division, will return to the octagon after his loss to Waldo Cortez-Acosta in January. Prior to that, “The Black Beast” had secured two consecutive knockout victories.
