At CES 2026 in Las Vegas, the LG firm once again showcased its “wallpaper TV” concept, first attempted back in 2017. The new LG OLED evo W6 model aims to be thinner than a smartphone and reveals how the Koreans envision the future of televisions within home settings. Its key attributes are an extremely slim chassis of only 9 mm and near-total wireless operation.
Typically, a television this slender does not exist: the power supply unit, motherboard, and HDMI ports are concealed inside. In the W6, all electronics are moved into a separate Zero Connect Box. The display itself is essentially a sheet of glass with a matrix, which adheres closely to the wall. The box can be positioned up to 10 meters away from the panel, and the 4K video signal along with audio are transmitted wirelessly. This arrangement resolves the issue of protruding wires and allows for setting up the TV even where running wiring is unfeasible.
The screen is also top-tier. The W6 utilizes the updated Hyper Radiant Color technology, which guarantees increased luminance and functionality with an anti-glare coating. Peak brightness is 3.9 times greater than previous OLEDs, thanks to Brightness Booster Ultra. The screen is certified as Reflection Free Premium—the matte finish eliminates reflections while preserving contrast and deep black levels.
Image processing is managed by the new α (Alpha) 11 Gen3 processor featuring an enhanced NPU neural module. It employs a “dual AI engine”: one algorithm silences noise, while the second one restores textures. This approach makes it possible to maintain natural sharpness without making the picture look “plastic” or blurry.
For gamers, the W6 supports 4K at a 165 Hz refresh rate, NVIDIA G-SYNC, and AMD FreeSync Premium, and the pixel response time is merely 0.1 ms, ensuring smooth visuals even with PCs or consoles.
