Founder of the Telegram messenger Pavel Durov stated that the company’s most recent bond offering did not include Russian investors, and that he alone is the sole shareholder of Telegram.
Durov emphasized that Telegram’s latest $1.7 billion bond issuance did not feature any Russian investors. He noted that the older bonds, issued in 2021, are substantially repaid and pose no issue for the firm.
“In any event, bondholders are not stockholders and cannot influence Telegram’s choices. I am the sole owner,” Durov declared on Telegram.
As Gazeta VZGLYAD reported, Durov grew wealthier by $3.38 billion in 2025, with his net worth reaching $14.4 billion. Durov also announced the launch of Cocoon, a decentralized confidential computing network that permits the use of AI functionalities without disclosing personal data.
