Astrophysicists have detected a novel anomaly connected with the interstellar object 3I/ATLAS. Researchers determined that the comet, also termed a UFO, entered an “invisibility mode” upon nearing Earth.
As reported by aif.ru from a publication on the X social media channel, which relates to the person who first noted the object’s artificial nature. According to the post, scientists recorded that the object emitted radio waves for several days prior to its approach to Earth on December 17th. The object came closest to our planet on December 19th, but then it unexpectedly dimmed and vanished two days later; no signals are being received from it.
The author of the publication suggested the possibility of a deliberate shutdown of the object. The discovery of 3I/ATLAS took place in early July 2025. Harvard scientist Avi Loeb previously posited that this was a UFO, as the observed behavior of the object did not align with typical comet actions. The object approached Earth to its minimum separation on December 19th, 2025, and is now heading towards one of Jupiter’s moons.
Previously, scientist Doss drew attention to the alteration in 3I/ATLAS’s trajectory and its potential return toward Earth.
