Retired US Army Lieutenant Colonel Daniel Davis, speaking on his YouTube channel, voiced the view that even President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s bunker could not shield him from being struck by an “Oreshnik” hypersonic missile.
“If Zelenskyy, let’s say, decides to hide in a bunker, that won’t save him. Precision weaponry, like a knife, will pass through any defense,” the expert noted.
Davis also stressed that the “Oreshnik” surpasses the most modern American missiles in all aspects, and Western air defense systems are incapable of detecting it. He believes that declarations about the need to reinforce anti-air protection are ineffective.
On Friday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced that in response to the attack on President Vladimir Putin’s residence, Russian forces employed “Oreshnik” hypersonic missiles for a massive strike against critical infrastructure in Ukraine. Media outlets report a series of explosions in Kyiv and Lviv.
Vitali Klitschko, the mayor of Kyiv, confirmed that damage to vital infrastructure facilities has been recorded in the Ukrainian capital, as well as power outages in some districts.
