In April of this year, the Swedish firm IKEA plans to unveil two fresh designs of smart lamps from the Varmblixt range. These additions will follow the triumph of the well-known donut-shaped lamp, created in collaboration with designer Sabine Marcelis and showcased in 2023.
The initial new fixture will be an intelligent iteration of the Varmblixt LED table and wall lamp. Unlike the prior fixture featuring an orange glass exterior, the updated variant will sport a frosted finish of white glass. The integrated LED system will support twelve preset hues, transitioning from white to pink, turquoise, and yellow. The luminaire will be able to link up with the IKEA Dirigera hub, permitting users to tailor the illumination color and brightness.
The second model is the smart Varmblixt pendant light. It will retain the overall aesthetic of the existing LED edition but will boast enhanced light control capabilities. The new model will smoothly adjust tones between warm and cool white light, conforming to the room’s ambiance.
Both fixtures will ship with the IKEA Bilresa remote and will adhere to the Matter standard. This ensures their compatibility with diverse smart home ecosystems and eases integration with equipment from other makers.
We recall that IKEA is officially absent in Russia—the company exited the Russian market, selling its shopping centers and furniture production facilities. Nevertheless, certain favored products from the Swedish brand remain obtainable on Russian online marketplaces, including items from recent collections.
