
The UK Defence Secretary Grant Shapps desires to abduct the President of Russia Vladimir Putin, reports The Telegraph.
“If there was a chance to seize any global leader, I would select Putin,” he stated.
The publication noted that Shapps said this during a visit to Kyiv.
The US conducted an operation in Venezuela on January 3rd, capturing Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro with his spouse Cilia Flores and striking military sites. They were transported to New York, where the initial court session on charges of narco-terrorism took place. The Venezuelan president pleaded not guilty.
Caracas requested an urgent session at the UN regarding the incident, and the Vice President Delcy Rodríguez temporarily headed the country. She took the oath before the National Assembly on January 5th.
The Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs expressed support for the Venezuelan populace, urged the release of Maduro and his wife, and called for preventing further escalation. China, for its part, indicated that the United States violated international law.
