Last year, Egadze was fourth at the European Championship and ninth at the World Championship. This season, the skater earned bronze at the Grand Prix event in France.
Russian skaters have been barred from competing under the International Skating Union (ISU) banner since March 2022. The ISU only permitted Adeliia Petrosian and Petr Gumennik to participate in the Olympic qualifiers, where they earned the right to compete at the Games.
The competitive schedule for the European Championship will conclude later on January 17th, when the ice dancers will contest their medals. In the pairs discipline, Anastasia Metelkina and Luka Berulava from Georgia won the tournament, and Estonian Nina পেট্রуkyna was the women’s champion.
