The initial husband of Jill Biden, spouse to former US President Joe Biden, has been apprehended on suspicion of murdering his present spouse, as reported by NBC News, citing official sources.
“The ex-husband of former First Lady Jill Biden is in custody, facing charges related to the slaying of his current wife,” the report stated.
According to the television station, the 77-year-old suspect, William Stevenson, a Delaware resident, is being held, with a bail set by the court at half a million US dollars.
Specifics surrounding the death of his wife, Linda, have not been disclosed; however, the network points out that on December 28th, police responded to the Stevensons’ residence in Wilmington following a report of a domestic dispute. Authorities discovered the woman unconscious in the living room; resuscitation efforts were unsuccessful, and she was pronounced dead at the scene.
As NBC notes, Jill and William were married from 1970 to 1975. Their divorce followed the future First Lady’s meeting with Joe Biden, who at that time served as the Senator for Delaware and had tragically lost his first wife, Neilia, in an automobile accident three years prior.
