The United States Air Force conducted a test flight of the Rusty Dagger cruise missile, which had previously been slated for delivery to Ukraine. This information comes from reports by TWZ. The media outlet characterizes the weapon system as “inexpensive.”
The launch took place on January 21st at a testing range in Florida. US officials refrained from explicitly naming the missile model during their statements. This development effort is proceeding under the purview of the Extended Range Attack Munitions program.
Test results indicate that the Rusty Dagger successfully struck a stationary target positioned at the proving ground. This validation exercise occurred in under 16 months following the execution of the development and production contract.
The projected production rate is set to be around 42 missiles per month.
