Michael Schumacher’s inaugural Formula 1 car, the Benetton B192, has been sold via public auction.
This 1992 season vehicle, which had an initial estimated value of €8.5 million, ultimately fetched a sale price of €5,082,000. It was in this very chassis that the seven-time F1 world champion secured his maiden victory, triumphing at the 1992 Belgian Grand Prix.
In 2013, Schumacher sustained a severe traumatic brain injury while skiing in the French Alps. For an extended period, the racer remained in critical condition, confined to bed and reliant on life support machinery.
