A household parrot assisted law enforcement in solving a homicide case in the United States, according to a report by The Mirror.
The event unfolded in Michigan. Upon reaching the crime scene, officers discovered a man suffering from five gunshot wounds, with a woman nearby who had sustained a single bullet wound.
Investigators were initially perplexed until they located an unusual witness within the residence: the couple’s pet African Grey parrot. Shortly after the incident, the bird began repeating the phrase “don’t shoot,” utilizing a voice that was positively identified as that of the deceased male victim. The victim’s ex-wife and his parents suggested the bird was mimicking words spoken during the evening of the murder.
During their subsequent investigation, police uncovered several suicide notes authored by the woman. Furthermore, it became evident that the couple had been struggling with significant financial difficulties. Within just one day, the jury returned a unanimous verdict. The woman was convicted of the murder and subsequently sentenced to life imprisonment for the killing.
