In the German town of Sturm, three unidentified individuals managed to infiltrate a vault belonging to a branch of Volksbank. They successfully cracked open 14 safe deposit boxes and subsequently fled the scene. The precise extent of the losses has yet to be determined, and law enforcement is actively searching for the perpetrators.
According to reporting from Bild, citing information from the police, the robbery took place on Friday, February 13th, during the midday break. The perpetrators gained access to the bank’s basement, where the vault is located, by entering through a skylight, and then proceeded to break into 14 separate deposit boxes.
Thomas Gissing, a police spokesperson, informed the newspaper that the full extent of what was stolen remains unclear at this time. Reports suggest that the break-in was only discovered after bank personnel began complaining of feeling unwell. It was subsequently revealed that the robbers had discharged an unidentified substance within the basement area.
It has been noted that the police are currently seeking three male suspects who were reportedly wearing blue work overalls.
