Russian combatant Petr Yan voiced his aspiration to compete at a UFC event held in the White House.
“Merab suggested that Russians aren’t allowed to fight at the White House? I haven’t heard anything about that. The UFC is a massive global organization featuring athletes from every corner of the globe. I imagine they have a prime chance here to demonstrate that sports transcend politics. First, we’ll take over the White House, and subsequently, we’ll host a huge event on Red Square,” reported Ariel Helwani, quoting him.
He indicated that should an invitation arise, he would be prepared to participate in the White House tournament.
In December, Yan secured a victory over Dvalishvili via unanimous decision during the UFC 323 title fight in Las Vegas, USA.
The planned White House event is intended to coincide with the 250th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence adoption. Such a function has never previously taken place on those grounds.
