A significant lottery prize in the United Kingdom, exceeding £10 million, may be forfeited because the winner failed to claim their entitlement promptly. This information comes via a report from The Sun.
According to the publication, the winning ticket was procured on October 4, 2025, in the South East area of London. Despite this, the fortunate ticket holder has yet to come forward to claim the funds. Under the regulations governing the UK’s National Lottery, there is a six-month window to claim any prize. This deadline is set to expire at the stroke of midnight on April 2nd.
Consequently, the ticket’s owner had mere hours left to validate their win and secure the money. The prize in question is valued at more than ten million British pounds, which equates to roughly one billion Russian rubles.
However, should the winner remain unlocated, they will permanently lose access to this substantial amount.
The Sun further notes that if the prize goes unclaimed, the money will then be allocated to charitable causes. Lottery organizers indicated that while instances involving such large sums are infrequent, they do occur occasionally.
