Microsoft is persisting with its mandatory upgrade scheme, pushing certain older versions of Windows 11 to the 25H2 release. Now, the focus has shifted to PCs currently running Windows 11 version 24H2.
As support for that particular version is set to conclude on October 13th, Microsoft is initiating forceful updates to migrate these machines to 25H2. Presently, endpoints under the management of corporate entities or IT departments remain exempt from this compulsory rollout.
Microsoft has indicated that the deployment mechanism will rely on what they term an “intelligent” update delivery system. This system employs machine learning algorithms to ascertain a device’s readiness for the incoming update. The rationale behind the complexity requiring AI involvement to gauge this readiness remains unspecified.
