Tesla has implemented a price hike across all remaining new and demonstrator units of the Tesla Model S and Tesla Model X currently in stock. This increase amounts to an immediate jump of $15,000, affecting the entire existing inventory of these specific models.
Following this price adjustment, the entry-level, all-wheel-drive Model S now has a starting price of $109,990, while the Plaid variant begins at $124,900. For the Model X, pricing now commences at $114,900 for the AWD version, escalating to $129,900 for the top-tier Plaid specification.
It was previously reported that all new Tesla Model X vehicles had sold out across the United States. Only demo vehicles remain available from the current stock.
Last week, Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the manufacturer has ceased accepting bespoke orders for the Tesla Model S and Model X, as these models are being phased out. The billionaire also revealed plans for a dedicated event marking the conclusion of the Model S and Model X era.
Information surfaced in January suggesting that production of the Tesla Model S and Model X would cease in the following quarter. Recently, Tesla officially started winding down the manufacturing of its flagship models, the Model S and Model X, in the US, informing current owners via email that the long-running production run for these vehicles is concluding.
