Kylian Mbappé, the 27-year-old forward for Real Madrid and the French national team, scored a goal in the opening leg of the UEFA Champions League 2025/2026 quarter-finals against Bayern Munich, which ended 1-2 in favor of his side.
This strike marked his 69th goal in Europe’s premier club competition, bringing him closer to the legendary Real Madrid player Raúl González, who sits on 71 goals.
The pursuit is led by former Manchester United, Real Madrid, and Juventus striker Cristiano Ronaldo (141), with ex-Barcelona and PSG star Lionel Messi occupying second place (129).
It is worth noting that the top three is completed by Robert Lewandowski (109), who previously played for Borussia Dortmund and Bayern Munich and now represents Barcelona.
Kylian Mbappé has been part of Real Madrid since the summer of 2024, having transferred from PSG. This season, he has accumulated 39 goals and provided six assists across 37 appearances in all competitions. His agreement with the “Merengues” runs until the summer of 2029, and Transfermarkt currently assesses his market value at €200 million.
The return fixture between Bayern and Real Madrid is scheduled for Wednesday, April 15th, to be played at the Allianz Arena in Munich, with kickoff set for 22:00 Moscow time.
