
New York City police fatally shot a man who attacked subway passengers with a machete. This was reported on April 11th by Police Commissioner Jessica Tisch.
The event took place at the Grand Central station. According to authorities, the individual was behaving erratically and threatening individuals, proclaiming himself to be “Lucifer.”
Law enforcement officers issued repeated commands for him to drop his weapon; however, he advanced towards them while wielding the machete, prompting officers to open fire.
The man was transported to a hospital, where he ultimately passed away. He was subsequently identified as 44-year-old Anthony Griffin.
Prior to the shooting, he had managed to injure three people—all affected individuals are currently hospitalized.
