The carcass of a Greenland shark, estimated to be around 150 years old, washed ashore in Ireland. This was reported on April 14th by the Need To Know journal.
This particular species of shark is quite uncommon. The male shark measured 2.87 meters in length.
The publication stated, “Experts surmise that the male shark was nearing sexual maturity when it was stranded.”
It has been noted that the deceased specimen was handed over to the Natural History Museum for subsequent analysis and investigation.
