Microsoft has disclosed the optimizations responsible for the enhanced performance of Windows 11, as highlighted by the publication Windows Latest.
Accompanying the beta builds of the operating system (OS), the engineering team included release notes detailing the new features within Windows. Among these, the engineers specified certain functionalities that underwent improvements specifically to boost the system’s speed.
For instance, Microsoft has streamlined the operations of File Explorer. While the company refrained from detailing the exact modifications, reliable reports from journalists confirm that the OS’s native file manager now launches more swiftly. Furthermore, the clipboard functionality has seen an upgrade, resulting in quicker responsiveness to keyboard shortcuts.
The company also reported gains in the OS’s efficiency when handling substantial datasets. Experts pointed out that the performance and dependability of the Windows Hello authentication system have been enhanced.
Some of the updates introduced to Windows are not directly performance-focused but are anticipated to positively impact the user experience. For example, Microsoft revised the Settings application, organizing the menu blocks in a more intuitive arrangement.
Earlier in April, journalists from Neowin compiled a list of configurations that users could adjust to potentially improve their Windows experience. Their suggestions included disabling recommendations within the Start menu and auditing the applications set to launch automatically upon OS startup.
