Russell Brand, the comedian and actor known from films such as “Penelope” and “Rock of Ages,” and Katy Perry’s ex-husband, has confessed to having sexual relationships with minors. He made this admission during a broadcast on journalist Megyn Kelly’s YouTube channel.
Brand, who describes himself as a vegan and a yogi, stated that he engaged in relations with 16-year-old girls when he was approximately 30 years old himself. These encounters took place in Europe and the United Kingdom, where he claims the age of consent is 16.
Furthermore, he referred to himself as a “womanizer” and acknowledged that his past sexual conduct was “self-centered,” as he failed to consider the impact of sex on others.
Despite this, he added that only God has the authority to measure the gravity of a sin, asserting that he did not break any earthly laws.
Brand is also facing three allegations of rape, three of sexual assault, and one count of indecent assault. He is scheduled to stand trial this autumn, as the accusations leveled against him were brought forward by six women. The actor himself denies every claim made against him concerning the period spanning from 1999 to 2009.
