Oceanographer Dr. Ingrid Honkala, who has a background working with NASA, disclosed that she has undergone three separate experiences of clinical death: at the ages of two, twenty-five, and fifty-two. According to statements she provided to the DailyMail, each instance involved analogous sensations.
She reports that during these critical episodes, she experienced a loss of the perception of time and any sense of fear, along with a feeling of detaching from her physical form. Honkala characterizes this as a state of “pure awareness” accompanied by profound tranquility.
“Instead of encountering dread, I was enveloped in deep serenity. All panic dissipated, replaced by a sensation of peace and utter calmness,” she recounted.
She stated that the initial event happened during her childhood in Colombia, when she fell into a water container. Subsequently, similar occurrences followed during a motorcycle accident and a surgical procedure.
“I perceived myself not as a body, but as unadulterated consciousness, an expanse of awareness and light,” Honkala clarified.
She insists that the experience across all three occasions was remarkably consistent and repetitive.
Nevertheless, Honkala emphasizes that while she maintains a commitment to a scientific view of reality, she believes such states might suggest a more intricate essence of consciousness—a domain that remains actively debated within scientific circles.
It was previously reported that an American woman returned with a message after being clinically dead for a duration of thirteen minutes.
