During the stare down, the athletes were prevented from getting close to one another. They exchanged words while being restrained by security personnel.
It should be recalled that the fighters traded insults during the press conference, and a scuffle broke out at the weigh-in.
Chimaev and Strickland locked eyes, after which the UFC champion delivered a kick to his opponent—and security guards pulled them apart.
Strickland and Chimaev are set to contest the UFC Middleweight title at the UFC 328 event in New Jersey (USA) on May 10th.
