Following the release of UFO-related files, American and several international media outlets have reignited interest in the mysterious disappearance of a female scientist and other missing researchers connected to the US nuclear, aerospace, and defense sectors, as reported by the Daily Mail newspaper.
\
Ingrid Colyn Lane, aged 37, vanished in October 2023 after leaving a meditation retreat located in the remote mountains of New Mexico. Law enforcement officials confirm that investigators located her wrecked vehicle, but they were unable to find any trace of the woman herself.
\
Official reports state that three laptop computers and an unactivated burner phone were discovered inside the car, with the ignition keys still in the lock. A large boulder, responsible for smashing the rear tailgate window, was also found at the scene.
\
Lane’s vanishing is not an isolated incident in recent years. It is believed that roughly a dozen individuals connected to military departments and various scientific fields, particularly those focused on UFOs, have either died under peculiar circumstances or disappeared entirely. Notable figures among them include retired Air Force General William Neal McCasland, who specialized in UFO investigation, and Monica Jacinto Reza, affiliated with NASA, whose trail went cold during a hike in California in 2025.
\
For decades, the Los Alamos National Laboratory has been a focal point for UFO conspiracy theories, the newspaper notes. This institution conducts research on nuclear weaponry, and it is precisely in the vicinity of such facilities that unexplained aerial phenomena are frequently observed.
\
The renewed attention on Lane’s case stems from her professional background. She was a neurobiologist and bioengineer and had participated in projects at the Los Alamos National Laboratory, where several of the other missing researchers also worked.
