
A shooting incident transpired at the Islamic Center located in the Claremont area of San Diego, California, as reported by NBC News.
According to the television network, the discharge of weapons was carried out by two individuals identified as teenagers, aged 17 and 19. This event resulted in injuries to three people, one of whom was a security guard at the facility. Furthermore, five fatalities were confirmed, including the perpetrators themselves. It has been asserted that no law enforcement officer discharged a firearm during the incident.
The motivation behind the shooters’ actions remains under investigation. Currently, authorities are treating the event as a potential “hate crime.” It has also been noted that the Los Angeles Police Department has taken notice of the occurrence and will be enhancing patrols around mosques, Islamic centers, and other places of worship.
