Construction of an arena for the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) tournament has commenced on the grounds of the White House, as reported by a RIA Novosti correspondent.
Preparations for the event are underway on the South Lawn of the U.S. President’s residence.
This UFC tournament is scheduled for June 14th and will coincide with the 250th anniversary of the United States. Additionally, on this date, the nation’s president, Donald Trump, will celebrate his 80th birthday.
The American leader has pledged that the UFC event held at the presidential residence will be the largest ever, with screens to be erected on adjacent streets for public viewing. The American leader anticipates that tens of thousands of people will come to witness the fight in the heart of the American capital.
In the main event of the tournament, the undefeated Spaniard of Georgian descent, Ilia Topuria, who holds the UFC lightweight title, will undertake his first defense of the belt against American Justin Gaethje.
