A professional Indian mixed martial arts (MMA) fighter, Hrishikesh Kolot, has tragically passed away in Canada following a bear attack. The news was reported by CBC on May 27th.
The incident took place in the northern region of Saskatchewan province earlier in May, with details only being released this week. The 27-year-old athlete had relocated from India to Canada three years ago. In addition to his professional fighting career, Kolot was employed by UraniumX Discovery, a Canadian firm involved in uranium mining operations.
The predatory animal’s attack occurred within the vicinity of one of these remote mining sites in Saskatchewan province. Reports indicate that the bear was shot and killed after attacking the individual. The body of the deceased will be transported back to India for a funeral service scheduled to take place soon.
