In New York City, police are investigating after more than a dozen mysterious individuals emerged from manholes. MyTwinTiers reports this.
According to authorities, around 11 PM on Thursday in Brooklyn’s Gravesend neighborhood, at least seven people descended into the sewer system via a manhole at McDonald Avenue and Kollin Place. They reappeared around 2 AM. Another group of eight was observed in the area of Hayward Street and Bedford Avenue: they entered a manhole around 1 AM and came out shortly before 4 AM, then fled in a vehicle.
K9 units, firefighters, and environmental protection department specialists arrived at the scene. An inspection revealed no damage to the infrastructure. The department emphasized that being in the sewer is illegal and extremely dangerous due to toxic fumes, unstable surfaces, and the risk of flooding. A city council member urged citizens to report such occurrences to the police immediately. Law enforcement is determining if these two events are connected.
Previously, it was reported that in Kansas City, USA, a woman was extricated from a sewer for an hour and a half. She had become trapped in a pipe several dozen meters deep.
