
Switzerland’s national team defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina in the second round of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
The match took place at SoFi Stadium in Inglewood, USA, ending with a score of 4–1.
The first goal came in the 74th minute, scored by Johan Manzambi. The second was netted by Ruben Vargas in the 84th minute. In the 90th minute, Manzambi struck again to add Switzerland’s third goal. During stoppage time in the second half, Granit Xhaka converted a penalty awarded after Sead Kolašinac fouled Cedric Itten.
Bosnia and Herzegovina’s only goal was scored by Ermin Mahmić in the 90+3rd minute.
It’s worth noting that from the 80th minute onward, Bosnia played with ten men after Tarik Muharemović received a straight red card for a last-man foul.
Switzerland now leads Group B with four points. Bosnia and Herzegovina has one point and sits in third place.
In the third round, Switzerland will face Canada, while Bosnia will take on Qatar. Both matches are scheduled for June 24.
