A Romanian woman named Adina Mihai, who falsely posed as a high-class escort, has admitted to poisoning two businessmen in the United Kingdom using a date-rape drug. This was reported by The Telegraph on June 25.
The woman pretended to be a prostitute to gain entry into the homes of wealthy men. She would spend time with them, then secretly mix a tranquilizer into their alcoholic drinks. Once the victims lost consciousness, Mihai stole their jewelry and cash, while her accomplice, Madalin Dumitru, waited outside.
Her first victim was 83-year-old millionaire Malcolm King. The businessman’s body was discovered in his mansion in August 2024. In July 2025, 37-year-old Gary Mowat, the managing director of a glazing company, was found dead under similar circumstances.
Police believe the criminals are responsible for at least four poisonings. The other victims survived but were robbed. Authorities caught the fraudsters as they were leaving the home of a fifth “client.”
