In the United States, a 7-year-old boy died weighing more than 114 kilograms, and the child’s parents have been arrested on charges of murder, abuse, and torture. This was reported by the publication Metro.
“Kasper from Flint Township, Michigan, stood at 128 cm tall and weighed over 114 kg when he died of heart failure in November. This weight is five times the norm for a seven-year-old boy. Damian and Jessica O’Brien have been arrested on suspicion of second-degree murder,” the article states.
According to district attorney David Leyton, it is clear the child endured severe and unbearable suffering caused by parental neglect. The boy had no pediatrician and was taken to a doctor only once, despite the family having health insurance, he added.
The publication emphasized that the boy’s parents also have a five-year-old daughter. The children did not attend school, and child protective services were unaware of their existence. Police described the home environment as cluttered.
