
French national team forward Kylian Mbappé has been named the best player of the World Cup quarterfinal match against Morocco, according to the official website of the International Federation of Association Football (FIFA).
On Friday night Moscow time, the French squad defeated Morocco 2-0 in Boston. Mbappé scored a goal in the 60th minute and also provided an assist for Ousmane Dembélé’s strike in the 66th minute. During the first half, Mbappé missed a penalty kick.
In the second half, the 27-year-old captain of the French national team was substituted due to an injury.
In the World Cup semifinals on July 14, France will face the winner of the match between the reigning European champions, Spain, and the Belgian team. This is the first World Cup to feature 48 national teams and is being hosted across three countries: the United States, Canada, and Mexico. The tournament will conclude on July 19.
