Microsoft has officially completed the acquisition of Activision Blizzard, a deal valued at approximately $68.7 billion. After nearly two years of negotiations and regulatory scrutiny — including challenges from the UK’s Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) and the US Federal Trade Commission (FTC) — the merger was finalized. As part of the agreement, Microsoft gained control over key franchises such as Call of Duty, Diablo, Overwatch, Warcraft, and Starcraft, as well as several development studios. The next step for Microsoft is to integrate these assets into its gaming division, with plans to expand the availability of Activision Blizzard’s titles in Game Pass.
