Russian swimmer Ilia Borodin is competing at the 2026 European Swimming Championships in Paris. The event started on August 10, and one of the main highlights of the first day was the men’s 400 meters individual medley final. Borodin, who previously won this distance at the 2021 European Championships in Budapest, is considered a strong contender, especially after Leon Marchand withdrew from the competition. He holds the second-best time in Europe this season (4:10.30) and the national record of 4:08.05.
