The Chinese video platform Bilibili has announced its expansion into the global market. The platform’s management shared the news via its official X (Twitter) account.
“Yes, Bilibili is going global, so stay tuned for updates,” the statement read.
However, the company has not yet disclosed a timeline for the international launch. The app is already available for download, though a significant portion of the interface is currently in Chinese. It is possible that users will be given the option to select a localized version in the future.
Bilibili is a Shanghai-based Chinese video-sharing platform. Users can upload, watch, and comment on videos—including through the danmu system, which displays comments directly over the video content.
The service initially focused on content related to animation, comics, and games, but later expanded its scope to include documentaries, variety shows, and original programming. On social media, Bilibili is often informally referred to as the “Chinese YouTube.”
