Eight people, including four children, died following a shooting and fire at a home in Billings, Montana, amid a domestic dispute. ABC News reported the incident, citing Montana state authorities.
According to the network, police received a report of a shooting at a private residence in Billings; by the time officers arrived at the scene, the house was already engulfed in flames.
“We believe it started with domestic issues,” Yellowstone County Sheriff Kent O’Donnell said, as quoted by the outlet.
Police apprehended the suspect in the home’s backyard. He was hospitalized with a gunshot wound believed to be self-inflicted and later died at the hospital.
Earlier, a shooting was reported at Charles Young Park in Lexington, Kentucky, leaving one person dead and at least four others injured. According to local television station WKYT, two children were among the victims.
