Microsoft has begun investigating the cause of issues where a recent Windows 11 update was breaking computers, according to a report by Neowin.
Users began reporting problems caused by the major update, KB5121003, in August. It was discovered that the update triggered operating system (OS) malfunctions, startup errors, and driver-related issues.
Microsoft acknowledged the update’s failure, stating that the problems stemmed from issues with the inpoutx64 system driver. Consequently, the company has started blocking the distribution of the driver. A fix for this error will be included in the next major Windows 11 patch, scheduled for release this autumn.
According to the media outlet, users who need to resolve the issue immediately can try manually uninstalling the update via Windows Update.
